The EU's NIS 2 Directive, introduced in 2022 and put to power in 10/2024, significantly enhances cybersecurity standards for critical sectors, including renewable energy. It demands robust technology, thoroughly risk management, rapid incident reporting including regulatory bodies and management of the supply chain. Actors in the renewable energy must secure operational technology (OT), including SCADA systems and IoT devices, against sophisticated threats.
As a result information security management system (ISMS) such as ISO 27001 are introduced.
Thomas Zedler, Interim Manager, consultant for Digitalisation and expert for the renewables at lotse.digital, will introduce the audience into these topics in detail, covering the following agenda:
- Introduction to NIS 2 and other Cybersecurity Regulations in the Energy Sector
- NIS 2 in Europe
- Regulations and Processes
- Cybersecurity in OT
- Top 5 Cybersecurity Topics in Renewables
This presentation aims to provide a generic overview on the one hand whilst on the other hand it gives practical insights into NIS 2 and the renewable energy infrastructure including OT aspects.
